Based within our Perth / Inverness or Corpach offices, we have an exciting opportunity to join our North West Routine Maintenance Team as a Graduate Engineer / Engineering Technician.

 

 

 

The successful candidate will be qualified to HNC/HND level in Civil Engineering or a related subject and have a strong interest in highway maintenance.

 

 

 

A full driving licence is essential.

1.         Job Purpose:

A Graduate Engineer/Technician in the Routine Maintenance team will design and deliver routine maintenance operations. They will be responsible for taking their assigned schemes from inception to completion, while assisting the Engineers and Routine Maintenance Manager.

 

 

 

2.         Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Design, preparation and supervision of Routine Maintenance works under the threshold value of £350,000.

 

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality procedures that form part of the integrated management systems.

 

  • Planning, programming and delivering projects on time and within budget.

 

  • Undertaking designs in accordance with the DMRB & SHW.

 

  • Preparing and delivering operations in compliance with the CDM Regulation 2015

 

  • Preparation and management of scheme and site files.

 

  • Management and supervision of supply chain contractors.

 

  • Management of health and safety requirements for specified schemes.

 

  • Preparation of statement of intent and construction bids.

 

  • Understand traffic management requirements, construction methods, materials and works programming.

 

  • Liaison with stakeholders.

 

  • Supervision of site operations

 

  • Inspection & measurement of completed works

 

  • Comply with all BEAR Scotland policies and procedures
