An opportunity has arisen to join the North East Network team based in our Perth office as a Technical Assistant.

 

The Technical Assistant will assist the Journey Time Reliability Coordinator and Network Manager in a variety of functions including; coordination of roadworks, incident management, preparation of reports and correspondence.

 

 

It is essential that you are a good communicator who is flexible, keen to develop, and committed to ensuring the success of all projects.

 

A full approved driving licence is essential.

1.         Job Purpose:

 

§          The Technical Assistant will assist the Journey Time Reliability Coordinator and Network Manager in a variety of functions including; coordination of roadworks, incident management, preparation of reports, correspondence and attending meetings.

 

 

 

2.         Responsibilities and Activities:

 

§    Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures that form part of BEAR’s Integrated Management Systems.

 

§    Assist with assessment of traffic management proposals ensuring works are planned and recorded in accordance with contract requirements and network availability is maximised.

 

§    Liaison with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland and Local Authorities.

 

§    Liaison with all parties proposing works and events within the trunk road unit.

 

§    Assist with preparation of ad hoc reports from IRIS.

 

§    Assist with preparation of responses to enquiries.

 

§    Undertake duties required in relation to permits for skips and scaffolding.

 

§    Undertake duties required in relation to network operations services.

 

§    Undertake duties required in relation to incident response.

 

§    Assist with the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, 6 monthly and annual Performance Indicators.

 

§    Other duties applicable to the post as directed from time to time by the Network Manager.

 

 

 

3.         Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

 

§    Must be proficient in basic computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Office software.

 

§    Must be capable of accurately communicating and recording information.

 

§    Must be able to must be able to plan and manage multiple assignments, set priorities and adapt to changing work needs.

 

§    A full approved UK driving licence.

 

§    Previous knowledge of the SRWR would be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided.
