Incident Liaison Officer - Perth

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Control Room team for an Incident Liaison Officer to play a pivotal role in the day to day management of activities on all of our trunk roads.

 

Duties will involve liaising with the emergency services and trunk road incident support units, deployment of emergency and winter maintenance crews, monitoring of road conditions, updating databases and record keeping.

 

There is a requirement to work within a shift pattern to ensure that road conditions are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Candidates must have excellent communications skills and be computer literate. Experience in an Emergency / Roads Authority Control Room environment is desirable.

1.      Job Purpose:

To provide a professional front line customer care service to members of the public and to assist the Winter Manager in monitoring road conditions through the winter period.

 

 

 

 

2.      Responsibilities and Activities:

§    Taking calls from members of the public relating to trunk road defects

§    Case managing and closure of defects

§    Liaising with incident management crews and co-ordinating incidents

§    Updating the incident database

§    Monitoring road weather stations to advise on road conditions

§    Call out winter resources where appropriate

§    Update communications log and winter forms to assist in management of winter maintenance

§    Monitor and record details of winter action including winter patrols

§    Any other relevant administrative duties

§    Co-ordination of Third Party Claims

§    Co-ordination of ORI’s and Hazards

 

 

 

 

3.      Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

§    Previous customer care experience is essential

§    IT Skills and the use of Microsoft Packages are essential

§    The applicant must be able to communicate at all levels

§    Knowledge of trunk road maintenance and experience in winter/incident management is desirable

 

 

 

 

4.      Key Relationships, Internal and External:

Provide a front line professional service to members of the public.  Develop relationships with colleagues at the area teams, roads teams, sub contractors and police forces
