Quantity Surveyor - Perth

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial expertise and excellence in contract governance on our commission with Transport Scotland working on the Scottish Trunk Road Network.

Based in our head office in Perth and reporting to the Contract Commercial Manager, the role will focus on:

• Promoting health and safety
• Control of Costs against projected budgets
• Identification of commercial risk and advising operational teams
• Reviewing and processing of subcontractor valuations
• Valuation of works undertaken in line with Method of Measurement
• To enhance the reputation of BEAR to our clients, customers and supply chain

Qualification/Skills Required:

• A minimum HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying
• Professional membership of (or progressing towards) either the RICS or CICES
• At least two years’ experience in civil engineering performing commercial duties
• An understanding of the Highways Method of Measurement
• Be able to demonstrate a good level of technical knowledge in civil engineering
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good understanding of ICT systems (Microsoft Office)

What We Are Looking For:

The successful candidate will have strong commercial experience within the civil engineering or highways sector. You should have a strong focus on Health & Safety and contract compliance with the drive to ensure high standards are always maintained. This role also requires excellent client interaction, any experience working with a large client or local authority would be beneficial.
