  • Parking restrictions required
  • 28  April-10 May 2024

BEAR Scotland, working for Transport Scotland, is set to improve the A83 road in Lochgilphead from Cossack Street to Colchester Square.

The work, involving resurfacing and refreshing road markings, will start on Sunday 28 April at 6pm and finish by Friday 10 May at 2am. Please note that there will be no works during the May Bank Holiday Weekend between Friday 3 to Monday 6 May. There will be lane closures and traffic lights with a convoy system to manage traffic. The traffic management is necessary to allow BEAR workers to complete the project safely, as well as to protect the public.

Outside work times the road will be open, but there will be a speed limit of 30mph.

Parking on the A83 from Cossack Street to Argyll Street will be restricted from 4pm to 5am each work night from 28 April until 10 May, except from 03 May at 5am to 07 May at 4pm.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said, “We are refreshing the A83 in Lochgilphead to give road users a better experience. Our team will work hard to finish the scheme safely and swiftly, and we’re grateful to the community and drivers for their patience. Please remember to check Traffic Scotland’s website before you set out.”
