WEEKEND LANDSCAPING IMPROVEMENTS PLANNED ON A9 IN PERTH

February 25, 2022

Works to start on Saturday 26 February

Weekend southbound lane closure in place for safety

A section of the A9 southbound in Perth is to benefit from a further £10,000 worth of landscaping maintenance, with work set to continue from Saturday 26 February.

The landscaping works will involve teams improving the woodland strip adjacent to the southbound carriageway between Old Gallows Road Overbridge and Broxden Roundabout and follows on from works carried out in the area in January.

The project is expected to get underway from 8am on Saturday 26 February with works scheduled to be completed by 6pm on Sunday 27 February.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers as well as motorists, a lane closure will be in place on the A9 southbound between Old Gallows Road Overbridge until just before the approach to Broxden Roundabout. The lane closure will be in place from 8am Saturday to 6pm on Sunday 27 February.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of landscape improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Commenting on the improvements, Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North East Unit Representative, said: “This project continues on from landscape works carried out at this section of the A9 last month and will further ensure the continued safe operation of the network.

“The traffic management programmed is essential for ensuring the safety of the workforce as well as motorists. Our teams will do everything possible to complete the project as quickly and as safely as possible.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance while our teams carry out these essential landscape works on the A9 in Perth. We encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date traffic information and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
