BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential drainage investigation works on the A85 between the junction for Grahame Terrace and the junction of A822 in Gilmerton with works starting on Monday 10 March for two days. Works will be completed by 4:30pm on Tuesday 11 March.
To protect the workforce and road users, a temporary traffic light system will be in place. It may also be necessary to close the footway at certain times. Pedestrians will be diverted around the work area to ensure their safety. All traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.
Access through the worksite for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Unit Representative said; “These drainage investigation works will provide valuable information regarding the condition of the current drainage assets as well as clearing any blockages found within the drainage system. This should alleviate current levels of flooding on the carriageway and footway, providing a more accessible route for residents and users of the carriageway.”
“Our teams will complete the works as quickly and safely as possible, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.”
“We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
