£20,000 LANDSCAPING IMPROVEMENTS PLANNED FOR M90 JUNCTION 10 CRAIGEND

March 17, 2022

Works start Monday 28 March for five days

A section of the M90 at Craigend Interchange is to benefit from landscaping improvements worth £20,000, with work set to get underway from Monday 28 March at 7.30am.

The improvements will involve teams removing vegetation encroaching neighbouring gardens and vegetation on the roadside verge to improve safety and visibility on the road.

The project is expected to begin on Monday 28 March and is planned to take place over five days. Works are scheduled to take place between 7.30am and 5pm each day. Works are expected to be completed by 5pm on Friday 1 April, subject to weather conditions.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists during the landscaping improvements, there will be a hard shoulder closure on the northbound carriageway. The hard shoulder closure will remain in place outwith working hours for safety.

Consultation has taken place with local residents in advance of the landscape improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North East Representative, said: “These works will involve our landscaping teams clearing some of the vegetation next to the M90, helping to improve safety and visibility on the road.

“The hard shoulder closure is essential for keeping our operatives safe as well as motorists and due to the nature of the works the closure will remain in place outwith the stated working hours.

“We thank motorists for their patience in advance while our teams carry out this essential project on the M90. We encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date traffic information and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
