£25,000 DAYTIME FOOTWAY IMPROVEMENT WORKS A84 CALLANDER

May 23, 2024

Update: Due to on-going issues with Scottish Water pipes in the area and consultation with the community council, it has been decided to re-programme these works in October. Further details will be provided nearer the time regarding a precise start date.

  • Footway Improvements ten days starting Monday 3 June

  • Temporary traffic lights with lane closures between 9.30am – 3.30pm

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland will be carrying out essential footway improvement works in Callander on the A84, with works planned to commence on Monday 3 June.
These footway improvement works will take place between the Murdiston Avenue junction and the bus stop opposite Drummond Place and have a programmed duration of ten days between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm and are anticipated to be complete on Friday 14 June.
Due to the nature of the works and to protect both roadworkers and motorists, it will be necessary to install temporary traffic lights, with footway closures and signed diversions in place for pedestrians. All traffic management will be removed outwith working hours. No works will take place on Saturdays and Sundays.
Access through the worksite for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Unit Representative said; “These essential footway improvement works will upgrade the existing footways, greatly improving the quality and safety for pedestrians and help address barriers to accessibility for those with diabiliities by introducing dropped kerbs and tactile paving.
Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
