£30,000 DRAINAGE INVESTIGATION WORKS ON THE A85 IN CRIEFF

August 13, 2024

  • Drainage investigation works are programmed to be undertaken overnight from Wednesday 21 August to Saturday 24 August

  • Temporary traffic lights between 7:30pm and 6am

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential drainage investigation works on the A85 between the junction for Craigard Road and the junction of Turretbank Road in Crieff with works starting on Wednesday 21 August for three nights.

These drainage investigation works are programmed to be undertaken between 7:30pm and 6am each night, with no works currently planned for Saturday or Sunday nights. Works will be completed by Saturday 24 August.

Due to the nature of the works, traffic lights will be in place to protect the traveling public and roadworkers. It may also be necessary to close the footway at certain times, therefore diversions around the works area will be in place for pedestrians to ensure their safety.

Access through the worksite for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Unit Representative said; “These drainage investigation works will provide valuable information regarding the condition of the current drainage systems as well as clearing any blockages found within. This will hopefully alleviate current levels of flooding on the carriageway and footway, providing a more accessible route for residents and users of the carriageway.”

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.”

“We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
