A7 RESURFACING AT KINGSKNOWE ROUNDABOUT

February 27, 2025

UPDATE: An extra night has been added to the resurfacing on the A7 at Kingsknowe Roundabout and works will now take place for three nights from Monday 17 to Wednesday 19 March. New information below.
  • Overnight road closures from on 17, 18 and 19 March 2025

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to resurface the A7 at Kingsknowe Roundabout over three nights, from Monday 17 March.
Due to the nature of these works, the A7 at Kingsknowe Roundabout and the A6091 between Tweedbank Roundabout and Kingsknowe Roundabout will be closed in both directions between 19:30 and 06:00 over the nights of Monday 17, Tuesday 18, and Wednesday 19 March.
For those wishing to continue along the A7, a diversion will be signposted along Abbotsford Road which runs parallel to the A7, which won’t add significantly to journey times.
For those wishing to access the A6091, a diversion route will be signposted between Selkirk and Tweedbank Roundabout via the A699, A68 and A6091, adding approximately 12 minutes and 9.6 miles onto affected journeys.
Emergency services will be given access through the works at all times and local access for residents within the closure points will be maintained.
Relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to make them aware of the plans.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “It is essential for safety that we close this section of carriageway while resurfacing takes place.
“We’ve scheduled the works at night to minimise disruption and thank the public in advance for their patience and understanding.”
Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland on www.traffic.gov.scot or on X at @trafficscotland.
All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement or cancellation in the event of adverse conditions
