NEW £1.4M SURFACING IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT PLANNED FOR FOUR LOCATIONS ON THE A82 BETWEEN CRIANLARICH AND ARDEN
Project begins Monday 15 February for up to seven weeks
Four sections of the A82 between Crianlarich and Arden are set to benefit from an improved road surface as a £1.4M surfacing project gets underway next week.
The £1.4M project will involve improvements on the A82 south of Falls of Falloch and at three locations next to Loch Lomond, including north of Luss, south of Luss and north of Aldochlay.
The project will see over 3km of the A82 resurfaced, promoting better ride comfort and safer journeys for motorists.
The improvements begin on Monday 15 February and are expected to take place over seven weeks, subject to weather conditions.
The intended programme of work is as follows:
A 10mph convoy system will be in place between 7am and 7pm each day.

A 10mph convoy system will be in place between 7am and 7pm each day.
The convoy system will be removed at each location outwith working hours, however a temporary 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.
Strict physical distancing protocols, in line with Scottish Government Covid-19 guidance, will be in force to protect teams and ensure they remain safe at all times.
Commenting on the improvements, Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This £1.4M investment will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety of these sections of the A82 near Loch Lomond and Falls of Falloch.
“Traffic management is essential to the safety of our teams and motorists during these works, and we have taken steps where at all possible to minimise the impacts experienced by road users.
“We thank motorists for their patience in advance and would also encourage them to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
