A83 AT REST AND BE THANKFUL: A83 OPERATING UNDER TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROL UNTIL TONIGHT
Please be advised that the A83 will continue to operate under traffic signal control until 10pm tonight. Thereafter, convoy control will be implemented due to the heavy rain forecast in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Subject to the outcome of a morning inspection, it is anticipated that the A83 will return to traffic signal control during daylight hours on Saturday. However, further periods of convoy operation can be anticipated over the weekend due to planned works on the A83 and the forecast for further rainfall.
On Saturday night, A83 convoy operation will be implemented from 7pm at the Rest to support the completion of planned bridge inspections between Inveraray and Ardgarten outwith peak travel times. The inspections will commence from approximately 8pm on Saturday evening, with the last inspection being completed in the early hours of Sunday morning. Outwith the area of the Rest and be Thankful, short duration traffic management using traffic signals will enable bridge inspections to take place whilst allowing the A83 to remain open throughout the night.
Our teams continue to have a presence on site and will be monitoring hillside conditions and the weather closely.
