The A83 at the Rest and Be Thankful has been closed between the Viewpoint Car Park (junction between the A83 and B828) and Ardgartan this afternoon due to the high wind speeds associated with Storm Éowyn.
The wind strength being experienced is creating a significant risk to the operation of traffic management at the Rest and Be Thankful, and as an immediate safety precaution, the road has been fully closed.
The situation will be monitored throughout the rest of the day and a decision about returning traffic to the A83 will be made as soon conditions allow.
Police Scotland are advising the public to avoid travel in, or to, the areas affected by the Met Office’s red weather warning.
