• Works begin Tuesday 4 April for two days
• 10mph convoy with lane closures, 7am to 7pm

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface 270m of the A87 at Balmacara, with works taking place on Tuesday 4 April and Wednesday 5 April.

To allow the works to be carried out safely, there will be single lane closures with a 10mph convoy system between 7am and 7pm each day. Outside these hours traffic management will be removed, but a 30mph speed limit will remain in place, as motorists will be travelling over a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “This surfacing project on the A87 will help address defects and reduce the need for ongoing maintenance. The project will also improve the road surface, creating a smoother ride for road users.

“Traffic management is essential to ensure the safety of both roadworkers and motorists. Regrettably there will be some delays, but our teams will do all they can to complete the scheme as safely and quickly as possible, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete this project.
