A9 NORTHBOUND OFF SLIP CLOSURE AT PITLOCHRY

June 14, 2024

  • Off slip closures beginning Monday 17 June

On behalf of Transport Scotland, BEAR Scotland will be carrying out essential repair works on the A9 Northbound off slip at Pitlochry.

The works will install rock bags and repair the riverbank where a retaining wall collapsed, protecting the nearby areas.

The essential repair work is scheduled to take place over 10 days from Monday 17 June until Sunday 23 June between the hours of 07:00 until 17:00.

Throughout the duration of the works, the A9 northbound off slip at Pitlochry will be closed for the safety of both workers and motorists.

While the off slip is closed, traffic will be re-directed to the A924 junction north of Pitlochry. The A924 southbound access onto the A9 will continue to be unaffected by the situation and the planned repair works.

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said, “It is essential to undertake the repairs at this time to avoid further more damages and more disruption from any future inclement weather.

“For public safety, the slip road will be closed until the damaged area is replaced with new rock bag revetment.  We thank local residents and drivers for their patience. Our priority is to get the road open again as soon as possible, while ensuring the safety of those on site.”
