Essential carriageway coring investigations on the A9 at the Raigmore Interchange Slips are set to begin on Monday 13 November for four nights.
The investigations, managed by BEAR on behalf of Transport Scotland, will involve coring the surface to determine the underlying condition of the road, on all four slip roads at the A9 Raigmore Interchange. All investigation work is scheduled to finish by 6am on Friday 17 November.
Slip road diversions will be in place to ensure the safety of road workers and motorists. Please refer to the table below for the detailed schedule of closures and diversion:

Tuesday 14 November | 22:00 | Wednesday 15 November | 06:00 | Phase 2 – A9 Raigmore Interchange Northbound On Slip (Coring) | Traffic will be rerouted from the Raigmore Interchange NB on slip around the roundabout and back down Millburn Road to Millburn Road Roundabout. Subsequently, traffic will be directed down the B9006 Old Perth Road to Inshes Roundabout and then onto the northbound A9 (end of diversion).

Wednesday 15 November | 22:00 | Thursday 16 November | 06:00 | Phase 3 – A9 Raigmore Interchange Southbound Off Slip (Coring) | Traffic will be redirected from the Raigmore Interchange SB off slip to the Inshes Junction, where traffic will exit the southbound A9 onto the B9006 Culloden Road. From there, traffic will be diverted west on the B9006 Culloden Road to Inshes Roundabout and onto the B9006 Old Perth Road, leading to Millburn Road Roundabout (end of diversion).

Thursday 16 November | 22:00 | Friday 18 November | 06:00 | Phase 4 – A9 Raigmore Interchange Southbound On Slip (Coring) | Traffic will be directed from the Raigmore Interchange SB On Slip onto Millburn Road. At Millburn Road Roundabout, traffic will be redirected onto the B9006 Old Perth Road to Inshes Roundabout, and from there, along B9006 Culloden Road. At the B9006/A9 Culloden Road junction, traffic will be diverted onto the A9 for southbound travel on the A9 (end of diversion).

Traffic management will be removed outside working hours. Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
