The A9 southbound slip roads at Sheriffmuir Junction are set to benefit from surfacing improvements worth £15,000 with work due to get underway next week.
The project will involve teams carrying out essential surfacing improvements to ensure the integrity and safety of the trunk road network at this location.
The overnight project is scheduled to take place overnight on Wednesday 7 July between 7.30pm and 6.30am.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the off and on-slips will be closed each night. Traffic will be escorted through the worksite when it is safe to do so. A waiting area will be provided for motorists wishing to access the slip roads.
Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the surfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.
Commenting on the improvements, Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North East Unit Representative, said: “This £15,000 investment from Transport Scotland will greatly improve and strengthen this section of the A9, as well as create a smoother and safer journey for motorists.
“We’ve taken steps to minimise disruption for motorists as much as possible during the improvements, including carrying out the works overnight.
“We thank motorists for their patience in advance while our teams carry out these essential improvements on the A9. We encourage road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date traffic information and allow some extra time to reach their destination.”
