Essential road marking improvements on the A9 dual carriageway and single carriageway between the Inshes Junction southbound slips and B9006 Culloden Road will get underway on Monday 20 November at 7pm for five nights.
The road marking improvement works will be to replace all of the white lines and studs for a total of 800m of the A9 dual carriageway including the southbound Inshes Junction off and on slips to the B9006 Culloden Road, creating a safer journeys for motorists with highly reflective markings and studs. All road marking improvements within these sections will be completed by 6am on Saturday 25 November 2023.
During the works, between 7pm and 6am, the A9 Inshes Junction southbound slips (exiting/entering the dual section) and the small section of road leading to the B9006 Culloden Road will be subject to night time road closures.
A southbound Lane 1 closure will also be installed on the A9 past the Inshes Junction southbound slips.
Signed diversion routes will be in place to guide motorists around the closures to continue their journey.
For residents that live within the site extents, access will be maintained from the Culloden Road junction where there will be a holding zone so that they can be safely escorted through the works. Residents approaching from the A9 will be diverted to the Milton of Leys junction and along the B9177 to Culloden Road.
Out with the working hours, the traffic restrictions will be removed. Motorists should be aware that road markings may not always be in place.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
