Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland is planning to resurface 500 metres of the A985 east of Waulkmill on the nights of Friday 25 and Monday 28 March.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and road users, the A985 will be closed on each of these nights from between Waulkmill and West Road (leading to Charlestown), from 20:00 until 06:00.
During this closure, a diversion route will be signposted between Kings Road Roundabout in Rosyth and Cairneyhill Roundabout, via the B980, A823, A907 and A994. This diversion will add an estimated 9 minutes and 1.6 miles to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Access for public service buses will also be maintained.
Consultation has been carried out with relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will significantly improve safety and ride quality for motorists using the A985.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience and encourage them to plan ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
