The northbound on-slip at M9 Junction 1 Newbridge will be closed from 20:00 until 05:30 on the night of Sunday 25 February, to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to repair damaged roadside safety barriers.
A signed diversion route for traffic wishing to join the M9 northbound at Junction 1 will be in place from Newbridge Roundabout via the M8 eastbound to turn at Hermiston Gait and return westbound to join the M9 northbound at Newbridge. This diversion is expected to add an estimated 12 minutes and 9.8 miles to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “It’s essential for safety that we repair these roadside vehicle restraint barriers.
“A slip road closure is required to ensure the safety of workers and road users, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption.”
Consultation has been carried out with relevant stakeholders to share information about the works in advance.
