The annual staff charity raffle got the year off to a strong start with £1,120 raised for Chest, Heart Stroke Scotland, BEAR’s new national charity partner of the year.
Seven BEAR employees took part in Doddie Aid 2025 between 1 January and 5 February. Combined, they covered almost 3,000 miles and raised £1,000 for the MND charity, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
The first beneficiary of 2025 of BEAR’s regional charity initiative, which sees local causes nominated for support by employees, was Dalkeith-based, Play Therapy Base which received £750 thanks to a nomination from Jamie Finlayson, SE Contract Delivery Manager.
Six of BEAR’s team that work on the M80 are taking part in the Kilt Walk in aid of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity. The charity has provided excellent care over the last year or so for one of the team’s son.
BEAR has also supported an employee’s London Marathon challenge with a £250 corporate donation to Breast Cancer Now.
As well as supporting charities, BEAR Scotland also offers support to community initiatives in the areas where it operates to deliver a positive social footprint.
BEAR has signed up to sponsor Perth Highland Games as well as be a ground sponsor for Bonnyrigg Rose Football Club.
We provided support to Litter Free Dalgety Bay in its litter pick of St Margaret’s Marsh with Inverkeithing High School.
BEAR and Balfour Beatty collaborated to build a planter and play area for Tulliallan Primary School in Kincardine, using spare materials from the Kincardine Bridge Southern Piled Viaduct replacement project.
We provided £250 support to the Fairview School in Perth which caters for children with severe and complex additional needs.
