BEAR Scotland is bolstering its workforce in communities across North West Scotland, recruiting for over 40 roles at bases including locations in Perth, Dundee and Inverness, as well as smaller operational depots throughout the North West of Scotland.
The roles BEAR Scotland is recruiting include road maintenance operatives, winter service drivers, roads inspectors, incident liaison/control room staff, roads maintenance, road safety and traffic engineers and technicians at all levels, an Assistant Network Manager and a Planning Application Officer.
The trunk road operating company is hosting recruitment open days to help fill the posts in its offices and depots in Perth and Dundee, and there will also be information available for anyone interested in opportunities across the wider area of the North West.
In August this year BEAR Scotland began a new eight-year contract to manage and maintain the trunk road network in North West Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland. This covers 1,422km of trunk road through some of the most scenic parts of the country. It also includes 1,501 bridges and structures, including the Kessock Bridge which carries the A9 north of Inverness and the A87 Skye Crossing. BEAR held the previous contract since 2013.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North East Operating Company Representative said:
“Trunk roads in the North West of Scotland are essential lifelines and we’re building up our team to maintain and look after them for years to come.
“There’s great satisfaction in providing an essential public service as part of our strong, resilient team – this is a chance to help ‘keep Scotland moving’. The roles provide a good varied workload, security and the opportunity work in some of Scotland’s most beautiful landscapes.
“Whatever your background and level of experience, we’re keen to hear from you. We provide on the job training, including apprenticeship options. If you’re interested in taking your career to the next level with one of the leading companies in the industry, come along and meet us at one of our recruitment events.”
