Amber warning for snow remains in place until 6am Saturday 6 February

BEAR Scotland teams have been working tirelessly throughout Thursday and overnight as winter weather conditions affected routes across the north of Scotland.

Our teams are presently dealing with two metre deep drifting snow on the A835 between Garve and Braemore which has stranded a number of vehicles. The road is currently closed and teams are working closely with Police Scotland and other agencies to recover vehicles and ensure the safety of the people involved. Additional winter fleet has been mobilised and is making good progress in clearing the road although this is currently being hampered by high winds causing further drifting.

The A85 is currently closed west of Methven near Burnbrae Garage due to flooding caused by surface water running off adjacent fields. HGVs and buses are presently being allowed through the closure point whilst all other vehicles are required to divert via the standard diversion route. Teams are continuing to progress works to clear the flooding.
