Carriageway and lane closures will be in place on the M90 at Junction 2, Masterton, and the eastbound A823(M) between 20:00 and 06:00 from Monday to Friday for ten nights, commencing Monday 11 November:
This is to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to undertake urgent joint replacement works on a bridge carrying the M90 motorway over a slip road.
A diversion route for traffic wishing to continue on the M90 southbound will be signposted via the A823(M), the B980 and the A985 Admiralty Road, to rejoin the M90 southbound at Junction 1C Admiralty
Traffic travelling from Queensferry Road in Dunfermline wishing to join the M90 will be directed via the same diversion route to M90 Junction 1C.
This diversion will add approximately three miles and six minutes onto affected journeys.
David Bishop, BEAR Scotland’s South East Unit Bridges Manager, said: “It is critical that we replace expansion joints on this structure to ensure the continued safety of motorway users.
“We thank motorists in advance for their understanding and recommend that they check the latest travel updates from Traffic Scotland, plan ahead and allow extra travel time for their journey if required.”
Consultation has been carried out with relevant stakeholders to make them aware of these works in advance.
All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement or cancellation in the event of adverse conditions.
