BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company is set to complete repair works on the safety barriers at Grantshouse this month.
The works are programmed to take place overnight on the A1 at Grantshouse on Tuesday 14 April from 20:00 until 06:00.
The A1 will be closed in both directions between Ayton Junction and Tower Farm Junction. A diversion will be signposted via the A1107, adding an estimated 9 minutes and 1.2 miles onto affected journeys.
Emergency services will have access through the works at all times.
James Petrie, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Bridges Manager, said: “These works are required to finish the repairs to the existing vehicle road safety system.”
“It is essential for the safety of road users and our workforce that we implement these traffic management measures during the works. To minimise disruption, we have planned these works to be undertaken overnight. Some delays should, however, be expected.
“We advise motorists to check live traffic information before travelling and thank them in advance for their patience and understanding.”
All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement or cancellation in the event of adverse conditions.
