CARRIAGEWAY INVESTIGATION WORKS ON THE M90 NORTH QUEENSFERRY TO ROSYTH

October 1, 2024

  • Overnight carriageway closures on the night of Thursday 3 October 2024

  • Works will take place between Junction 1B to 1C northbound

The M90 Junction 1B northbound on slip will be closed from 20:30 on Thursday 3 October to 06:00 on Friday 4 October to allow BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, to undertake essential road surface investigation works.

The works will take place between Junctions 1B and 1C northbound to investigate the condition of the road.

A signed diversion route will be in place for traffic travelling northbound at the Ferrytoll Junction via the B981, Milne Road, Barham Road, Millenium Avenue, Castle Road and the A895 Admiralty Road before reaching the A985 Admiralty Roundabout. The diversion will add an estimated 6 minutes and 2.1 miles to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. All traffic management will be removed outside of the scheduled working hours. Consultation has taken place in advance of these works with the relevant stakeholders to minimise any inconvenience.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s Southeast Network Manager, said: “It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway during these works, however, we’ve scheduled this during overnight hours to minimise any disruption.”

“We thank motorists in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these investigation works.”

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website www.traffic.gov.scot for up-to-date travel information and allowing extra time for their journey.
