BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential drainage investigation works on the A9 between Longman Roundabout and Raigmore Interchange.
The investigation works are programmed to be undertaken overnight from Tuesday 10 December to Sunday 15 December between 7pm and 7am each night, a total of six nights.
Due to the nature of the works, and to protect both road users, pedestrians, and workers, it will be necessary to implement a traffic management system by utilising temporary lane closures. The lane closures will be removed out with working hours.
Road users should be aware that SGN will also be carrying out emergency gas repairs at this section of the trunk road network, therefore one northbound lane off the Raigmore Interchange onto Milburn Road will be closed from Monday 9 December at 9.30am.
Access through the worksite for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Unit Representative said; “These drainage investigation works will provide valuable information regarding the drainage system and reduce the risk of flooding on the trunk road and adjacent local authority roads.”
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.”
“We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
