DRAINAGE INVESTIGATION WORKS ON THE A85 BETWEEN CRIEFF AND METHVEN

August 29, 2024

  • Drainage investigation works planned for one day on Thursday 5 September

  • Temporary traffic lights between 9:00am and 4:00pm

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential drainage investigation works on the A85, between Crieff and Methven at the entry to Abercairney estates, on Thursday 5 September.

These drainage investigation works will last for one day between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm.

Two-way traffic lights will be in place to protect both road users and the workforce. Access to the Abercairney estates will be maintained throughout the works for road users.

Access through the worksite for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Unit Representative said; “These drainage investigation works will provide valuable information regarding the condition of the current drainage assets as well as clearing any blockages found within the system. This will hopefully alleviate current levels of flooding on the carriageway, providing a more accessible route for locals and general users of the carriageway.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.”
