DRAINAGE INVESTIGATIONS TO TAKE PLACE AT THE A85 WEST CONNECTOR – PERTH

January 27, 2023

  • Works will begin on Monday 6 February for two nights.
  • A full road closure with signed diversion will be in place both nights.

A drainage investigation project is set to start on the A85 West Connector on the outskirts of Perth (connecting to the junction with the B9993). The works will take place on Monday 6 February and Tuesday 7 February, from 7.30pm to 6.30am.

The aim is to identify the cause of flooding at the lowest point of the carriageway. Any blockages found during the investigation will be cleared and issues contributing to the flooding will be identified.

Due to the high volumes of traffic at this section of the A85, a full road closure will be in place both nights, to ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the public.

A signed diversion route will be in place for motorists travelling eastbound on the A85 and wishing to access the B9993 or enter the A9 via the northbound on-slip, and for those wishing to access the A85 westbound from the B9993.

Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These essential drainage works are essential to establish the condition of the drainage network and will indicate if further works are required.

“Safety is our top priority and the two-night road closure is essential to protect works and road users. The works will take place at night to minimise disruption and we thank motorists for their patience in advance. Please plan ahead by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date travel information.”
