DRAINAGE REPAIRS AT M876 JUNCTION 1 NEAR DENNY

November 19, 2024

  • Slip road closure for up to four and a half days, commencing 2 December 2024

The slip road exiting the northbound M876 at Junction 1, near Denny, will be closed for drainage repairs from 09:30 on Monday 2 December for up to four and a half days.

Northbound traffic on the M876 wishing to exit at Junction 1 during this period will be diverted onwards to turn at Junction 2 and return southbound to exit via the M876 Junction 1 southbound off-slip. This diversion will add an estimated 4 miles and 5 minutes to affected journeys.

Relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to make them aware of the plans.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “We need to complete these drainage repairs in advance of resurfacing works scheduled for later in December.

“A drainage survey has identified at least one fracture that needs to be excavated and repaired, however the findings were inconclusive and the full extent of works required will not be known until we break the surface.

“It is essential for the safety of road users and our workforce that we keep the slip road closed during the works.

“We’ll reopen the road earlier if we can, however the works may have to continue until the afternoon of Friday 6 December.

“We thank motorists and the local community in advance for their patience and understanding.”

All work is weather dependent and subject to postponement or cancellation in the event of adverse conditions.
