Updated 6 November 2024 – Due to reprogramming of the works schedule, drainage works on the A85 between Methven and Gilmerton have been postponed. New dates will be issued in due course.
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out essential drainage improvements at Burnbrae Garage on the A85, between Methven and Gilmerton, from Monday 14 October.
These works involve constructing a new piped system to improve drainage in the surrounding area. Works will take place between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm, and will be completed by the end of November.
Two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place to protect road users and the workforce.
Access through the worksite for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Unit Representative said; “These drainage improvements on the A85 are essential to improving the surrounding drainage system.
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.
“We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
