April 25, 2025

  • Masonry repairs start on Monday 5 May for four days

  • 24-hour two-way traffic lights until Thursday 8 May

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are set to carry out essential masonry repairs on Allt A’Ghaill culvert that supports the A86 trunk road. The culvert is located approximately two miles east of Laggan.

This essential maintenance work is scheduled to commence on Monday 5 May and is expected to be completed by Thursday 8 May. Works will be carried out between 7am and 6pm.

To protect the workforce and road users, the A86 carriageway will be reduced to one lane over the culvert with two-way temporary traffic lights in place 24 hours a day for the duration of the works.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West representative said: “These works are being carried out to maintain Allt A’Ghaill culvert and ensure that further, more extensive repairs are avoided in later years.

“Our teams will carry out these works quickly and with safety as our top priority. We thank road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
