Essential repairs are set to be conducted on the A9 Dalshian Rail Bridge with works set to get underway next week.
The project will involve the replacement of the deck expansion joints on the bridge, which is located near Pitlochry, such that it is able to operate safely for years to come.
This essential maintenance is scheduled to start on Monday 8 November and will take one week to complete.
To protect the workforce and motorists, a single lane closure and a 30mph speed limit will be in place on the A9 dual carriageway over the period of the works.
Commenting on the project, Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “This essential maintenance project will see the expansion joints on the A9 Dalshian Rail Bridge replaced, such that it is able to operate safely for years to come.
“The traffic management arrangements on the A9 are crucial to completing the works safely, and our teams will do all they can to complete the project as quickly as possible.
“We thank all road users for their patience in advance while we carry out these essential repairs. We encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
