Due to severe weather delaying other programmed works, works at A830 Loch Eil have been delayed and will end at 7pm on Thursday 8 August 2024. See updates below.

  • Surface improvements began Tuesday 6 August for three days

  • Convoy with lane closures, 7am to 7pm

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, plan to undertake essential road resurfacing works on the A830 Loch Eil, 3 miles west of Corpach. Work commenced on Tuesday 6 August 2024 for three days. The project will see 600m of road resurfaced, creating a smoother and safer road for motorists.

Works are due to take place between 7am and 7pm each day with resurfacing due to be completed by 7pm on Thursday 8 August, weather permitting.

Access will be available to emergency services at all times.

To ensure the safety of road workers and motorists, the works will require a lane closure with a convoy and a 10mph speed restriction during working hours. The road will be open outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, however a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running over a temporary surface.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users. We thank motorists for their patience during these road improvements.”
