Lane closures in place for safety
BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking road marking improvement works set to be carried out in August on A85 at Dunollie Road and George Street, Oban. The improvements will involve renewing the road markings to make them more durable, as well as providing a safer road for road users.
The works are provisionally programmed for construction from Monday 5 August to Friday 10 August under lane closure. Works will be carried out between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night. Outwith these hours, traffic management will be removed.
In order to access all road markings and complete the works, some parking restrictions will be in place each night on the A85 between Dunollie Road and George Street. Motorists are kindly asked to adhere to the parking restrictions so we may deliver the best possible result. Parking will be reinstated immediately after the road markings have been refreshed.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These essential works will upgrade the existing road markings, greatly improving the quality and safety for road users. We thank motorists for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
