Road users using the A86 between Roybridge and Spean Bridge will benefit from an improved road surface as resurfacing works are set to be carried out later this month by BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland.
The improvements will involve resurfacing the road to remove defects and to make it more durable and resilient against inclement weather, providing a safer road for road users. The works are in two sections near Inverroy Caravan Park and Achaneich.
The works will begin on Thursday 15 August and are due to be completed by Tuesday 20 August.
Works will be carried out between the hours of 7am and 7pm each day under a 10mph convoy with two-way temporary traffic lights. Outwith these hours, traffic management will be removed however, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place where applicable, as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface. No works will be carried out over the weekend.
It will also be necessary to control access for local residents and businesses during working hours whilst surfacing takes place across junctions. Road users may be asked to wait until it is safe to enter or exit.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
