Users can click on the coloured icons to view further information about each project, including an estimated start date and the planned traffic management at each location. Here’s a closer look at a few of the significant schemes coming up in the North West Unit over the next few months.
The deck of Findhorn Bridge is set to receive an upgrade worth £722,000. Working in conjunction with Balfour Beatty and Contraflow, our teams are set to carry out concrete repairs, waterproofing and resurfacing in places. The traffic management measures will be incorporated into those already in place for the Tomatin to Moy Dual Carriageway upgrade scheme therefore keeping disruption to a minimum.
This summer our teams will be conducting an investigation of the filter drain running between Balloch and Loch Lomond. The works involve carrying out testing for contamination and a CCTV survey to determine the condition of the filter drain. Not only does this provide valuable information regarding the current condition of the drainage assets and identify areas requiring repairs, but it also allows operatives to clear any blockages found within the drainage system to alleviate flooding on the trunk road.
The A86 is set to benefit from significant resurfacing projects between Kingussie and Spean Bridge with key works programmed over the summer months. Projects include West of Tullochrome, East of Strathmashie and Kinloch Laggan. Thanks to an investment of over £3 million from Transport Scotland, the route will provide a safer and smoother journey for road users.
