Transport Scotland’s operating company, BEAR Scotland, is set to carry out essential highway boundary fencing works on the M9 southbound for six weeks, commencing Monday 16 September.
The works will take place between 07:30 and 17:30 from Monday to Friday between Junction 11 and Junction 10 of the M9, starting at the Keir roundabout and ending at the southbound farm of ABP food group, prior to Junction 10 southbound.
For the safety of workers and road users during the works, the hard shoulder on a section of the M9 southbound will be closed until works are completed.
The vegetation clearance and fencing replacement work will replace around 2,400 metres of boundary fence in a £125,000 investment by Transport Scotland. To reduce the project’s environmental impact, all existing fencing materials will be recycled.
The project has been planned to take place after the bird nesting season, in order to limit its impact on local wildlife. In addition, care has been taken not to disturb bats in the area.
