BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to carry out essential survey investigation works on the A83 Millknowe Road, Campbeltown between Mill Street and Lochend Street.
The investigation will use ground penetrating radar to determine the position and depth of cables, ducts and pipes beneath the surface of the footway. Works will continue for three days between the hours of 8am and 4pm and will be completed on Friday 11 October.
To protect road users, pedestrians and roadworkers, a combination of three-way and four-way temporary traffic lights will be in place to control traffic safely through the site.
Access through the worksite for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s Northwest Unit Representative said; “These investigation works will provide valuable information on the position of utility cables, ducts and pipes contained within the footway. This will allow us to design a suitable footway improvement scheme for the area.”
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.”
“We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
