The A1 southbound at Haddington will be closed between 21:00 and 06:00 on the night of Thursday 13 February to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to carry out repair works to an overhead gantry.
During the closure, a signed diversion will be in place directing traffic to take the A1 southbound exit at Oaktree Junction and follow the A199 to rejoin the A1 at Abbotsview Junction. This will add an approximate 0.2 miles and 4 minutes to affected journeys.
David Bishop, BEAR Scotland’s South East Unit Bridges Manager, said: “It is essential for the safety of road users and the workforce that the A1 southbound is closed while these repair works are undertaken.
“We have programmed these works to take place overnight to minimise disruption and thank motorists in advance for their patience and understanding.”
Consultation has been carried out with relevant stakeholders to make them aware of the plans in advance.
