The eastbound on-slip of the M8 at Junction 3 will be closed for a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey between 20:30 and 06:00 on the night of 07 December 2023.
A clearly signed diversion route suitable for trunk road traffic will be in place from A899, A89 to M9 Junction 1A and re-joining the M8 eastbound at Junction 2, adding approximately 0.7 miles and 8 minutes to affected journeys.
All traffic management will be removed out with working hours and access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to make them aware of the plans in advance.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “We thank motorists and the local community in advance for their patience while we carry out these essential pavement investigations to allow us to carry out the future resurfacing works. We’ll do all we can to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.”
