BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to undertake improvements on the A84 through Callander, situated between Lagrannoch Cresent and Leny Feus. These preliminary drainage works, road resurfacing works and footway improvements, costing £460,000, will commence on Monday 2 October and last just over six weeks. All scheduled work is expected to conclude by Thursday 23 November, depending on weather conditions.
Throughout the projects, access to properties will be maintained, however there may be times when access is temporary restricted due to the nature of the works and to ensure the safety of our workforce and members of the public. When access is restricted, a member of the site team will contact those affected to advise of the specific access arrangements in place while these works are carried out.
Safety barriers will also be in place along the footpaths. Pedestrians and cyclists will have brief waiting periods during excavation works, after which they will be guided safely through the area or shown to the suitable diversion route. These precautions will ensure the safety of both the workforce and the public whilst the works are carried out.
The following traffic management arrangements will be in place:
Diverson Routes
Local signed diversion routes will be required as carriageway resurfacing works are undertaken adjacent to the following side roads:
Parking Restrictions
To allow access to undertake the work, parking restrictions will be in place on the A84 Trunk Road at the following times and locations:
Emergency services will have access through the work sites at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said, “These enhancements to the A84 will replace the worn out road surface and improve the access to footways for pedestrians. Our team will work hard to finish the job safely and quickly, and we thank the local community and road users for their patient. Before you start your journey, please check the Traffic Scotland website for the latest updates.”
