Overnight works to reinstate traffic counters on the A823(M) between Pitreavie Roundabout and M90 Junction 2 are scheduled for Thursday 16 December 2021.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will carry out the works, which are scheduled to last one night. Working hours will be between 19:30 and 06:00.
For the safety of workers and motorists, the eastbound A823(M) will be closed during these works.
A signed diversion route will be in place. Traffic wishing to travel to the M90 will be diverted south on the B980, then east on the A985 to Junction 1C (Admiralty) of the M90. This is projected to add an estimated 4 minutes to affected journeys.
All traffic management will be removed out with working hours.
Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.
Materials removed from the existing carriageway will be recycled using SEPA approved methods.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These works will complete a scheme of improvements on the A823(M), following recent works to repair defects in the carriageway.
“It is essential for the safety that we close the carriageway during these works, however we’ve scheduled them overnight in order to any disruption.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website www.trafficscotland.org for up-to-date travel information and allowing extra time for their journey.
