The southbound on-slip at M9 Junction 1 Newbridge will be closed from 20:30 on the night of Thursday 19 October until 06:00 the following morning to allow BEAR Scotland to install traffic loops on behalf of Transport Scotland.
A diversion route for traffic wishing to join the M9 southbound at Junction 1 will be in place from Newbridge Roundabout via the A8 Glasgow Road, the A720 and the M8 westbound, adding an estimated 13 minutes and 8.8 miles to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “The installation of these traffic loops will ensure traffic data is accurately recorded on this section of the M9.
“A slip road closure is essential to ensure the safety of workers and road users, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption.”
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
