INVESTIGATION WORKS ON M8 JUNCTION 4 WESTBOUND OFF-SLIP

July 4, 2024

  • Overnight slip road closure 11 and 12 July 2024

BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to carry out a drainage investigation at the M8 Junction 4 westbound off-slip on the nights of Thursday 11 and Friday 12 July.

To allow works to be carried out safely, the slip road will be closed from 20:30 until 06:00 each night.

A clearly signed diversion route will be in place, directing traffic to continue westbound to turn at Junction 4A and return eastbound to exit at M8 Junction 4 eastbound off-slip. This diversion will add approximately six minutes and 4.6 miles to affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These drainage investigations will improve the performance of the existing pipework and will inform of any repairs required for the next phase of improvement works in the area.

“We’ve scheduled the works at night to minimise disruption, however if you do need to use this route our advice is to plan ahead and allow a few extra minutes for your journey.”
