Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland is to carry out out coring investigation works on the southbound carriageway of the A1 at Oaktree Junction on the night of Wednesday 16 March, in advance of future resurfacing.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers as well as the travelling public, The southbound A1 will be closed at Oaktree Junction between 19:30 and 06:30 while these works are carried out, with traffic diverted off the carriageway via the southbound off-slip and immediately back on again via the southbound on-slip.
Emergency services and other relevant stakeholders have been consulted in advance to make them aware of the plans. Emergency services will be permitted access through the works at all times.
The work is weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
