The slip road onto the southbound M9 at Junction 4 Lathallan is set to be closed from 20:30 until 06:00 on the night of Wednesday 5 October, for carriageway investigation works.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland is planning to investigate approximately 0.5 kilometres of the trunk road.
The northbound off-slip at M9 Junction 5 Cadgers Brae will also be closed for ongoing drainage improvement works, therefore a diversion route will be signposted via the M9 northbound to exit at Junction 7 and follow the M876 eastbound to turn at Junction 3 Bowtrees, before returning via the M876 westbound to join the M9 southbound at Junction 7. This diversion will add an estimated 16 minutes and 14.7 miles to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “An overnight slip road closure is essential to ensure the safety of workers and road users during these investigations, however we’ve planned the works to take place overnight to minimise disruption.
“We’re grateful to road users and local communities for their patience and understanding.”
