LANDSCAPING WORKS AT M90 JUNCTION 2

February 11, 2025

UPDATE 19 February 2025: Both northbound and southbound off-slips at M90 Junction 2 will now be closed on the night of Friday 21 February, due to tree removal works taking longer than originally estimated.

  • Overnight slip road closures 17-21 and 24 February 2025

Overnight slip road closures will be in place at M90 Junction 2 Pitreavie over six nights commencing on Monday 17 February, to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to carry out landscaping works.

Both the northbound and southbound off-slips will be closed between 19:30 and 06:00 on the nights of 17 to 21 February, then the southbound off-slip only will be closed on the night of 24 February.

No closures will be in place on Saturday or Sunday nights.

A signed diversion route for northbound and southbound traffic wishing to exit the M90 during these closures will be in place from Junction 1C Admiralty to Pitreavie Roundabout via the A985 Admiralty Road and the B980 King’s Road, adding an estimated 3 minutes and 1 mile to affected journeys.

Northbound traffic that misses the diversion from Junction 1C will be directed to continue northbound to turn at Junction 3 Halbeath and then return southbound to exit via the Junction 1C southbound off-slip.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “It is essential for the safety of road users and the workforce that we close the carriageway while these landscaping works take place, however we’ve scheduled the works at night to minimise disruption.

“If you need to use this route during these works, please allow a few extra minutes for your journey.”

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
