December 9, 2021

Overnight works to take place on Monday 13 December between 8pm and 6am

Essential overnight resurfacing works on the M80 northbound between Junction 5 Auchenkilns and Junction 6 Old Inns are set to take place on Monday 13 December.

The works will allow teams to address defects in the northbound carriageway, ensuring the network remains safe.

The project is scheduled to begin at 8pm on Monday 13 December and will be concluded by 6am on Tuesday morning, subject to weather conditions.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the northbound carriageway will be closed between Junction 4a Low Wood and Junction 6 Old Inns during working hours. A signed diversion will be in place via the M80 northbound Junction 4a Low Wood off-slip, the A8011 and the M80 northbound Junction 6 on-slip. The M80 northbound Junction 5 on-slip will also be closed overnight.

All traffic management will be removed before peak traffic.

Commenting on the works, Carnie Morrison, Highway Management (Scotland) Limited General Manager, said: “These essential carriageway resurfacing works are being carried out overnight when traffic flows are reduced to minimise delays to motorists as much as possible.

“These essential resurfacing works will help repair defects on the M80 northbound carriageway ensuring the Motorway remains in a safe condition for road users.

“The traffic management is required to ensure that both our teams as well as all road users are kept safe during the essential works, however teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible.

“We encourage all motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date journey information.”
